Town of Cramerton develops app for residents

The town of Cramerton plans to launch an app that will allow residents to submit tips to police, learn about city news, and receive real-time alerts for events like power outages.

While the app, Town of Cramerton, NC, is currently available in iPhone and Android app stores, the app is still under development and is expected to be completed in August, Cramerton Mayor Nelson Wills said.

The app will be a central point of communication between the town and its residents, sending push notifications "on news events, concerts, resources … economic development. We're still building out some content," Wills said.

"When we have a power outage, which we did on Monday night, we can tell the town where the outages are, when we anticipate them coming back on," he added.

The app has been in development since April and is free to download, Wills added.
