LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - If you are looking for ways to help someone this Independence Day, the American Red Cross is hosting an event as part of their Holiday Heroes series. Starting Tuesday, July 2, people can go to the 5th annual Stars and Stripes blood drive. The American Red Cross declared in January a national emergency because the blood supply levels were so low. One donation can save three lives which is why they want people to become donors of all blood types to make appointments.
