Cranford Teacher Wins Dance Off on Live with Kelly and Mark

CRANFORD, NJ – Were you tuning in to Live with Kelly and Mark on ABC on Wednesday? If so, you may have seen Walnut Avenue School kindergarten teacher Samantha Longo!

A friend of Longo’s told her that they recruited dancers before the show started, so she was ready when they asked for volunteers. The competition began with a dance off between her and four other people. The studio audience voted by clapping. They narrowed it down to Longo and another woman. And that’s when her competitive nature kicked in.

“I thought ‘there's no way am I losing.’ I don’t know what came over me, but I broke out all kinds of moves,” Longo told TAPinto Cranford. “When I dance, I don’t dance seriously, I just have fun. I decided to just go totally ballistic.”  And she won!

Longo then went backstage, where they readied her to dance twice on air. “The audience was high-fiving me when I went back to my chair. After the show, they gave me a coffee mug (not the trip to Aruba I was hoping for!).” But Longo was thrilled with the experience.

“There’s been so much bad news lately,” said Longo “it was just something fun!”
