Coach Chris Lemonis and the Mississippi State baseball staff may be able to sleep a little easier these days. 18 of 20 members of the 2024 signing class are headed to campus. The two defections from the class that opted for pro ball are Dante Nori (Philadelphia, 1st Round) and Conrad Cason (Boston, 8th round). Bay St. Louis police, firefighters celebrate National Hot Dog Day with hot dog eating contest
BAT ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WLOX) - First responders in Bay St. Louis celebrated National Hot Dog Day at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park on Wednesday. There was also competition in the air as several firefighters and Bay St. Louis Police Chief Toby Schwartz took part in a hot dog eating contest. The chief took the win after being the only competitor to eat all four hot dog buns in under two minutes.
Biloxi Chamber of Commerce awards $30,000 in grants to small businesses
BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - On Wednesday, the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce awarded grants to some small businesses in Biloxi to help them grow. Biloxi Mayor “FoFo” Gilich says, “These dollars that provided these small businesses are very important and they will enable them to take another step that would lead to more successful business and that’s what it’s about.”

Warm and humid, scattered storms this afternoon
As a stalling front slowly sags into our region by tomorrow, we’ll see a wetter pattern into the next several days. The risk of flooding rain can’t be ruled out. The rainier conditions will help keep our temperatures a little lower. Today’s high temps will still be hot as they reach the lower 90s but the heat index will “only” be about 100 to 106 which still feels quite hot so continue to use caution and remember to stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade when participating in outdoor activities.
