I Need You A Love Poem

    I’m afraid to admit
    how deeply I cherish
    the warmth of your chest
    beneath my cheek,
or how you pull me close,
    even as you dream.

    Hesitant to reveal
    that I hold my breath,
    waiting for the soft caress
    of your lips on mine
    each morning light.

    Your lips were mine,
    but they whisper secrets
    to someone else,
    softened by a touch
    that’s not my own.
I trace the memory of your kiss,
    a lingering ache
in the hollow of my heart,

    I’m spellbound,
    hoping you don’t see
how your voice wraps around me,
    mending wounds
    I forgot could heal.

I’m scared to say — I need you.

But, love, I think I need you.

Not just for the sweet joy
    you breathe into my heart,
    or the moments we spend
    lost in our laughter.

    Ineed you because
    your arms are my shelter,
    a place I never knew
    I was searching for.

    I need you because
    my hands feel empty
    without yours,
    your fingers Interlaced
    where mine belong.

    Ineed you because
    with you, I feel complete,
in a world that would shatter
    all that is soft.
