Falls Lake baseball announces all conference awards

Falls Lake Academy placed three players on the all-conference list and two on the honorable mention list. Carson Gregory, Micah Smith and  Jacob Watson earned Super-Six all-conference recognition.

Carson Bowers and  Cole Reinhard made the honorable mention list for the Firebirds.

Gregory played in 20 games for the Firebirds this season. He finished with 69 plate appearances and had a .328 batting average. He had 19 hits, which included three doubles. He drove in 18 runs for Falls Lake.

Gregory was tough on defense. He handled either a batted or thrown ball 189 time with the opportunity to get an out. He got the out 188 of the 189 times.

Micah Smith, an infielder and pitcher for Falls Lake, played in 20 games this season. Smith had 74 turns at bat for the Firebirds. During his final season with Falls Lake he had 19 hits, including four doubles and one triple. Smith drove in 13 runs for the Firebirds.

Smith went to the mound three times during the season. He faced 11 hitters, striking out eight while walking two.

Jacob Watson, one of the top pitchers for the Firebirds, made 12 appearances on the mound this season. He finished with a four win and one loss record and was credited with one save.

He threw 712 pitches to 166 batters. He struck out 60 and walked 34 batters.

At the plate, Watson a sophomore, went to bat 74 times during the season. He had 20 hits, seven doubles, two triples and one home run. He was responsible for driving in 18 runs for Falls Lake through 20 games.

Super Six Conference honorable mention

Carson Bowers played in 20 games for Falls Lake. Bowers made 69 plate appearances and had 18 hits including three doubles, two triples and two home runs.

Bowers had a perfect fielding percentage with 26 total chances to get the opponent out. He had 24 recorded put outs and two assists for Falls Lake.

Cole Reinhard was recognized on the honorable mention list.

Reinhard, a freshman pitcher, made eight appearances on the mound for the Firebirds working 13 innings. He faced 62 batters and struck out 20.

At the plate, Reinhard went to bat 67 times and had 21 hits with one double. He drove in nine runs during the season.
