A sea of blue washed over the South Granville athletic field on June 7, a warm and windy, Friday night. This was no ordinary Friday night event, this was the opportunity for the class of 2024 to make their final entrance as seniors and walk out as a South Granville Viking graduate. Donning the light blue caps and gowns, the Vikings made that final faithful journey to the end of this adventure with the mindset of “once a Viking, always a Viking” and claiming that with pride.

Serenity Jordan, salutatorian, challenged her fellow graduates to move forward with faith and confidence, carrying with them the lessons that they have learned over the last four years, to meet the challenges of a wider world of unknown possibilities and opportunities.

Destiny Wilkerson, valedictorian, said the class of 2024 was rooted in optimism and strength.

“Strength and resilience produce a recipe for success that when founded on dedication never falters,” Wilkerson said. “Find your reason for being determined and let that motivate your aspirations.”

Stan Winborne, superintendent of Granville County Public Schools pronounced the Vikings graduates as they set sails into the future.
