    Penn earns multiple soccer honors

    The Falls Lake girls soccer program has become one of the strongest programs in the county with wins in recent years over local rivals South Granville and Granville Central.

    The  program has been led by Savannah Penn, the go to player for the Firebirds.

    Penn led the Falls Lake Academy soccer program to the third round of the 1A state playoffs and a 15-7 overall record.  She earned multiple honors in the process.

    Penn, a 2024 graduate, played in 19 games for Falls Lake this season. She  averaged one and a half goals per game, scoring 28 goals and had nine assists this season.

    Penn earned Super Six all-conference honors and was named to the all-region and all-state honors list by the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association.

    Penn is the first girls soccer player to earn all-region and all-state honors for Falls Lake Academy.

    Samantha Carroll, a rising junior, was named to the Super Six all-conference team and earned all-region honors from NCSCA.

    Carroll played in 19 games and scored 20 goals, including three penalty kicks for the Firebirds. She also had 17 assists this season.

    Hannah Rister, a rising junior, earned all-region honors from the NCSCA. She played in 10 games this season and scored six goals and had nine assists. She scored one of her goals on a pressure packed penalty kick.

    Angelina Rosado, a rising senior according to Maxpreps, earned all-conference honors for Falls Lake Academy. She has no statistics listed for the season.

    Making the Super Six honorable mention list are Cameron Kinder and Angel Rosado.

    Kinder, a rising senior, played in 19 games often as a midfielder. Kinder’s ability to control the ball and pinpoint passes led to her honors. She finished the season with one assist.

    Angel Rosado, a recent graduate, made the honorable mention list  for the Firebirds. Angel Rosado has played the defender position for Falls Lake. Her position is considered one of the last lines of defense before the other team scores.
