The Border Coast Regional Airport Authority (BCRAA) has secured a new four year Alternate Essential Air Grant Agreement (AEAS) from the Dept. B Transportation (DOT). The amount of the grant is for $19.312 million an increase of $4.6 million, or a 23.8 percent increase from the previous Agreement.

The beneficiary of the Award is Advanced Air LLC, which currently offers daily round trip flights from CEC to Oakland (OAK)and twice-weekly fights to Los Angeles / Hawthorne (HHR) airport, an eight minute drive to LAX.

The AEAS Agreement ensures expanded, continued connectivity from Crescent City and throughout the Border Coast Region.

Since March of this year, multiple meetings have taken place between BCRAA, Michael Mooney of Volaire Aviation Consulting, Advanced Air LLC and the DOT.

The primary objectives have been to enhance regional air service, ensure safety, reliability, expand destination options, from Crescent City and promote business growth and augment tourism.

Next Summer, Advanced Air plans to expand flight frequency from CEC to OAK and HHR.
