Dock open just in time for holiday week
The new dock at the Akron Pond is ready just in time for the holiday week. The Town of Akron revealed its new ADA dock last week, and it’s already been a welcomed addition. Town Manager Gillian Laycock said the dock was funded with GOCO grant funds and was part of the grant award the town received several years ago, which helped pay for the development of the Akron Pond.

With their second-to-last pick in the 2024 NFL draft, the Denver Broncos selected wide receiver Devaughn Vele in the seventh round. Vele (6-4, 210 pounds) played college football at Utah, drawing comparisons to Broncos receiver Tim Patrick. “I’ve heard things even while at Utah,” Vele said of the comparisons to his new teammate. “[He’s] a great player, and I try to model my game after all of the greats.
