New investments in KCK parks give locals more pride in their neighborhoods
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - Vandalism hit three parks around Kansas City, Kansas, during this summer. The damage was costly. Clifton Park was hit hard after someone took equipment from the spray park worth an estimated $25,000. Now, some of the city parks are getting a big financial boost to build entirely new facilities and renovate the grounds.
Large cicada killer wasps in Barton Co. not a threat to humans
No, those are not the infamous "murder hornets" flying around Barton County. While the historic outbreak of two broods of cicadas occurred earlier this year in the eastern United States, dry conditions in Kansas may be contributing to a higher number of large cicada killer wasps. Alicia Boor, agriculture and natural resources agent in the Cottonwood District for K-State Research and Extension, said while intimidating, the cicada killers are mostly harmless.
Topeka Country Club announces new General Manager

One injured after driver attempts to cut through gore on Kansas City interstate
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - One woman was taken to a nearby hospital after an attempt to cut through a gore by another driver resulted in a 3-vehicle collision. The Kansas Highway Patrol indicates that just after 7:50 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, emergency crews were called to the area of southbound I-635 and Shawnee Dr., southeast of Turner, with reports of a 3-vehicle collision.
