Bearcats suffer first league loss in 40-7 defeat to Arroyo Grande
–The Paso Robles High School Bearcats football team (2-5, 0-1 Mountain) competed in their first league game on the road against Arroyo Grande (5-1, 1-0 Mountain) at Doug Hitchen Stadium on Friday night. In hopes of a strong start to the season, the Bearcats fell short against the Eagles in a defeat of 40-7.

Community gathers to raise funds for Pioneer Day at annual Kick-Off Party
PASO ROBLES — The Estrella Warbirds Campus hosted the Pre-Pioneer Day Kick-Off Party on Sept. 28 this past Saturday. The itinerary consisted of a cocktail hour and dessert auction, barbeque dinner, live auction, and even casino games and dancing to DJ Andy Morris, and at 10 p.m., the party came to a close.
Greyhounds earn first home, league win in offensive shootout against Santa Ynez
– In their first Sunset League game of the season, the Atascadero High School Greyhounds defeated the Santa Ynez Pirates 42-34. Though the Pirates struck first with a passing touchdown by quarterback Jude Pritchard on the opening drive, Atascadero matched them the whole way, putting on an incredible offensive performance. The Greyhounds’ running game was nigh unstoppable all night, getting production from every runningback that touched the ball.

New exhibit at historic Rios-Caledonia Adobe celebrates the rich history of the Salinan tribe
The Historic Rios-Caledonia Adobe in San Miguel has been updated. A new exhibit focuses on the history and lives of the Salinan Indian People. Steve Kalar and Laverne Buckman enlisted the help and information of Tribal elders, and it is enhanced by Steve’s beautiful artwork. The Salinan People have lived in this area for at least 10,000 years.
