    New Crestview home destroyed in fire: Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office

    OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. ( WKRG ) — One week after a family moved into their brand-new home, a fire broke out and destroyed it, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

    Officials with the OCSO posted on Facebook today that the home was in a new subdivision on Jane Lane in Crestview.

    “Initial reports are that a child woke up and smelled smoke and alerted the family to get out,” read the post.

    Fire departments and the Red Cross were on the scene to help with the family’s needs.

    OCSO officials said no one was injured.
