NEWARK – An Edison woman has pled guilty in her alleged role in connection with a decade long transnational technical support scam that generated $10 million in proceeds from at least more than 20,000 victims, many of whom were elderly, in the United States and Canada, according to U.S. Attorney Philip R. Soldier missing in action during WWII will make his way home to Metuchen 79 years later
A 21-year-old U.S. Army Air Forces staff sergeant, who was shot down by enemy fighters in Germany during World War II, will make his way back home 79 years later. Michael Uhrin’s remains were accounted for on May 12, but his family only recently received their full briefing on his identification, according to the Defense POW/MIA (Prisoner of War/Missing in Action) Accounting Agency (DPAA) on Dec. 13.

On Metuchen’s edition of “Law and Order,” police apprehended a North Carolina man and charged him with burglary and defiant trespass at a Jonesdale Avenue residence.

On Veterans Day in November and National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day in December, it’s a day to reflect on the heroism of those in the military. Many don’t want the fanfare and that was Master Sgt. Roddie Edmonds. He served in the U.S. Army – 106th Infantry Division, 422nd Infantry Regiment – during World War II. He was a prisoner of war (POW) when he and his fellow GIs were captured by the Nazis and sent to Stalag IX-A POW camp during the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944.
