    Crivitz cruises past Cavaliers; Badgers ride big sixth inning past Wausaukee

    Crivitz 17, STAA 0MARINETTE — Tegan Werner was locked in on the mound as the Crivitz baseball team clobbered Saint Thomas Aquinas Academy 17-0 on Monday.

    Werner tossed five innings of two-hit ball and helped his cause with the bat, driving in five runs on a two-for-two day at the dish.

    STAA was by eight errors and quickly found itself in an 8-0 hole in the bottom of the first that it was unable to claw its way out of.

    Calvin Peters was tagged with the loss after allowing eight runs (four earned), two hits and five walks in just one inning pitched.

    Braden Wozniak and Henry Piasecki were responsible for both of the Cavaliers base hits.

    Jaxon Kroll (4) and Colten Tarmann (2) both collected multi-RBI games for the Wolverines.

    Due upSTAA: The Cavaliers hosted Lena on Tuesday, with results unavailable at press time. STAA is back on the field Thursday against Heritage Christian at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park in Oconomowoc, Wis. at 7 p.m.

    Coleman 13, Lena 7COLEMAN — The Coleman baseball team wrapped up its fifth consecutive win after taking down Lena 13-7 on Monday.

    The Cougars found themselves down 4-3 in the bottom of the third inning but managed to turn the tables with a six-run outburst that Lena never recovered from.

    Tyler Shallow was the losing pitcher with five hits, 10 earned runs, seven walks and two strikeouts in two-and-one-third innings pitched.

    Gavin Pusick picked up the win after allowing seven hits, six runs (three earned), two talks and six strikeouts.

    Brady Dufeck had three RBIs for Coleman.

    Shallow and Logan Graef both tallied two-hit afternoons for Lena.

    Niagara 20, Wausaukee 9WAUSAUKEE — There are big innings, and then there is the sixth-inning onslaught that the Niagara baseball team unleashed on Wausaukee in Monday’s Marinette and Oconto Conference matchup.

    Down 6-0 entering the top of the sixth, the Badgers exploded for 17 runs to immediately put the Rangers in an unexpected comeback mode.

    Despite plating a trio of runs in its half of the sixth, Wausaukee was unable to slow down Niagara’s offense in the top of the seventh, with the Badgers tacking on another three runs before shutting down the Rangers with a scoreless bottom inning to seal the deal.

    Niagara racked up 15 hits against nine base knocks for Wausaukee.

    Christian Hedmark collected five RBIs on four hits. Mason Richtig and Cody Bath both had four-RBI days for Niagara.

    Luke Smith drove in three runs for the Rangers, while Christian Deschaine and Ryan Wojcik each had two-RBI outings.
