Coleman girls stay undefeated with conference win over Crivitz

CRIVITZ — The Coleman High School softball team took a 10-4 win over Crivitz in M&O Conference action on Tuesday.

Coleman’s Courtney DenRuyter tossed a complete-game one-hitter in the victory. The senior hurler struck out five Wolverines but did issue 16 walks to allow Crivitz to remain within striking distance.

The Cougars put five runs on the board in the first inning, three more in the fourth and single tallies in the fifth and sixth innings.

Meanwhile, DenRuyter kept Crivitz scoreless through five innings before surrendering two runs in each of the final two frames.

Coleman racked up 12 hits against Isabelle Danielczak who surrendered all 10 runs while striking out 11 and walking only three.

Annabell Markiewicz went 3-for-4 out of the leadoff spot for Coleman, scoring three runs and driving in another.

DenRuyter had the lone extra-base hit in the game with a double while going 2-for-3 with a run scored and three RBI.

Alyssa Kurth turned in a solid day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Due UpColeman (7-0, 4-0 M&O) traveled to Oconto Falls while Crivitz (6-3, 2-1 M&O) was at Niagara on Thursday. Both results were unavailable at press time.
