HOUSTON COUNTY, Texas ( KETK ) – The arrest warrant of a Crockett man charged with capital murder alleges he stabbed and cut the victim multiple times during a robbery attempt.

According to records, Deshayon Knight, of Crockett, is accused of killing Patrick White, 53 of Crockett.

June 4 : The Houston County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check at White’s home in Crockett per a family members request. When a deputy arrived, he reported that White didn’t answer and his vehicle wasn’t home.

June 5: White was entered as a missing person in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database after a family member filled a missing person report.

June 6 : A family member reportedly discovered blood, White’s bank card and debit card on the floor of his home after forcibly making entry. The affidavit said a dog that was present had not been taken care of, which indicated White had not been there in a while.

June 7 : The Houston County Sheriff’s Office got in contact with an officer with another agency that indicated White may had been the victim of homicide. The officer said he was told of a person, nicknamed Binky, who told other inmates they had killed someone and disposed the body in Anderson County.

Officers spoke with a person who was recently released from the Houston County Jail that said he was housed with Binky. Binky allegedly told his fellow inmate that he and another person named Frankie went to rob a person, later identified as the victim, and stabbed them in the neck.

According to the affidavit, Binky is the person who stabbed White initially and several more times until he died. White’s body was reportedly placed into the back of his truck and dumped on the side of a dirt road on the other side of Palestine as well as the knife used.

The inmate that was released told investigators he was told that the murder happened a couple days before Binky was booked.

June 8 : A knife and a vape cartridge were entered into evidence after being found about 25 feet of White’s residence.

Binky, identified as Houston County Jail inmate Deshayon Knight, was originally booked on May 20. When investigators reviewed the items that were in Knight’s possession when he was jailed, they found some of White’s personal items. A sergeant was able to confirm that a cellular device Knight claimed was his own was actually White’s.

June 10 : White’s vehicle was identified to be involved in a crash on May 19 after an offline search of NCIC. The affidavit said Knight was the person driving White’s vehicle at the time of the crash. After finding White’s vehicle, the sheriff’s office processed it for evidence where a substantial amount of apparent blood was found.

June 13 : Knight was charged with capital murder.

June 15 : White’s body was found in southern Henderson County. Reportedly, Houston County officers met with Henderson County officials at the scene and White’s body was sent for autopsy.
