Torrington, CT, House Fire Under Investigation
Jul. 21—TORRINGTON — A local fire official said three firefighters were injured and at least seven people were displaced in a Wall Street residence fire on Saturday night. A 911 caller reported the fire in the 50 block of Wall Street to dispatch at around 8:30 p.m., according to Fire Chief Eric Borden. He added that on arrival, firefighters saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the second and third floor.

A man was killed early Saturday after the vehicle he was driving crashed on Interstate 91 in Rocky Hill. State police say 44-year-old Marcos Benitez-Rengifo was killed when the vehicle hit a guardrail northbound at exit 24 around 3:00 a.m.
