UND to receive and display NASA space capsule at Space Studies program
GRAND FORKS, ND — A NASA space capsule will arrive at the University of North Dakota’s campus in Grand Forks Monday. The capsule was used as part of a test run in Virginia in the event of an aborted launch. It allows for astronauts and cargo to be ejected from the spacecraft and land safely back on Earth.

The Crookston Pirate Boys Soccer team kicked off the 2024 season with a 4-0 shutout as they beat St. John’s Prep in at the College of Saint Benedict in a Section 8A matchup. Brandon Colborn had a natural hat trick, and Reggie Winjum had a shutout to lead the Pirates.
JUVENILE MALE ACCIDENTALLY SHOT IN RURAL FOSSTON
On 08/22/2024 at approximately 1305hrs, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to 35097 420th Ave SE in rural Fosston for a juvenile male (Age 8) that was reported to be accidentally shot in the leg by another juvenile (Age 11). A .22 caliber handgun was recovered at the scene. The juvenile male (Age 8) was transported by ambulance to Fosston and then airlifted to Sanford in Fargo for further medical care which appears to be non-life threatening.
