    Victoria College to start new financial aid program this Fall

    VICTORIA, Texas - Community colleges around Texas are waiving tuition for some high school students.

    Victoria College is one of those colleges.

    VC is implementing the Financial Aid for Swift Transfer, or F.A.S.T., scholarship program this fall.

    VC officials have been in communication with regional superintendents.

    The Texas Tribune reports community colleges are using House Bill 8 to pay for this benefit.

    The bill passed last year expanded the money junior colleges get funding from and tied future funds to positive student outcomes.
