    DeWitt County ISD elections, Yorktown votes on $20 million bond

    DEWITT COUNTY, Texas - DeWitt County hosts several Independent School District elections for May 4.

    In the Cuero ISD District 5 election, Bill “Speedy” Hamilton and Chistopher DeLeon face off.

    Unofficial voting numbers from DeWitt County show a total of 64 votes in the Cuero ISD election. Bill "Speedy" Hamilton leads with 39 votes and Christopher DeLeon follows with 6 ovtes.

    For Nordheim ISD four candidates are on the ballot. They include Janice Brown, John Green, Pam Remmers and Kyle Wagner.

    In the Nordheim ISD Election, unofficial numbers show a total of 167 votes, three candidates separated by just one to two votes.  Pam Remmers leads with 55 votes, closely followed by John Green with 54 votes, and Janice Brown with 52 votes.

    DeWitt County also votes on a bond for Yorktown ISD, Proposition A. Residents in the Yorktown precinct will decide on a $20 million bond for Yorktown ISD for the purpose of designing, constructing, renovating, improving and updating school facilities and school sites. The bond gives priority to a new career and technical education and AG building.

    In the Yorktown ISD Bond vote, 341 people voted, with 244 votes cast against a $20 million school bond, only 97 voting of the bond.
