Bauknight and Louderback answer questions at Cuero public forum

The upcoming District 30 run-off race between former Victoria Mayor Jeff Bauknight and former Jackson County Sheriff A.J. Louderback has become one of the most closely watched contests in our Crossroads area.

Both candidates have drawn significant attention to their campaigns.

Louderback has emphasized border security as his top priority, advocating strongly for mass deportations if needed. On the other hand, Bauknight acknowledges the importance of border security but believes other pressing matters should also take center stage in the district.

During a recent forum in Cuero, voters expressed their concerns about the smear campaigns that both candidates have engaged in. While disapproving of the negative tactics, they recognized that political contests can sometimes turn personal.

The race is scheduled for May 28th, with early voting on May 20th.
