    Calhoun County added to Disaster Declaration by Gov. Abbott

    AUSTIN, Texas - Governor Greg Abbott added Calhoun County to the Presidential Disaster Declaration for severe weather and flooding that started on April 26.

    The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-1 tornado hit near Port Lavaca last Monday with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph.

    The length of the tornado's path was over 13 miles.

    The National Weather Service also says damaging straight-line winds around 85 mph happened on the south side of Port Lavaca towards Magnolia Beach last Monday.

    Straight line winds of 60 mph were reported in Port Alto.
