    Calhoun County to get FEMA help after May 13 storms

    AUSTIN, Texas - FEMA has approved the request from Texas to add Calhoun County to the Presidential Disaster Declaration.

    That county is eligible for FEMA help.

    Calhoun County residents can apply for FEMA funding to help with temporary housing, emergency home repairs, and medical and dental expenses caused by the disaster.

    On May 13, Calhoun County was hit by an EF-1 tornado with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph.

    Straight-line winds around 85 mph hit near Magnolia Beach.

    Texans can apply for FEMA disaster assistance online at disasterassistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362.
