    Monday's Sunrise Forecast

What we're tracking: Upper level high pressure has officially exited the Rockies this weekend and centered itself over N Texas for the rest of this week. This will bring very dangerous heat to all of the state, especially N Texas where air temps would reach as high as 108-112 degrees... In the Crossroads, 100s are likely for many with record highs possible for some Tuesday and Wednesday. Heat Advisories are in effect for all of the Crossroads with these hot air temps, but also for high humidity bringing heat indices up to 110 for most, but some could see as high as 114 indices. Going into the weekend, an upper level low that entered the NE Coast last weekend will sit there for some time continuing to batter the massive high pressure ridge overhead. Over time, this heat dome of high pressure may break down enough by this weekend allowing for perhaps a few spotty showers to develop and also drop temps by just a few degrees. Alert Days: <NONE>

    Monday's Heat Advisories

Tropical Activity: Currently, the tropics are nice and quiet with no likely systems developing in the next 7 days. However, there are still two tropical waves deep in the Atlantic that we will be watching closely as well as another few waves exiting the W Africa coast over the next week. At this moment, the waves that are in the Atlantic do not show any signs of strengthening on any computer models. This is due to a slight lack of moisture in the air providing much of the Atlantic with a stable atmosphere under sinking high pressure. Tropical development may not be likely in the next 7 days, but it is still good to stay up to date throughout the rest of this week as the next few waves exiting Africa are favored for tropical development by the Climate Prediction Center ( CPC ). Find the CPC's extended tropical outlook here . This outlook updates once per week every Tuesday, so another update will arrive tomorrow.

Next 24 hours: Summer weather in Texas continues today. You will surely be saying "wow, it's hot" if you'll be stepping outside this or tomorrow afternoon. Highs in the 100s for those along or north of Highway 59. Areas south of 59 will see the upper 90s. Northwestern counties including Karnes and Gonzales Counties could see air temps between 103/104 today with 104/105 possible tomorrow. Heat indices both days up to 110-114 prompting Heat Advisories to be issued for all. Winds will be calm to light both days allowing the heat to sit pretty still at the ground. Plentiful sunshine expected both days with perhaps one or two clouds in the morning and late afternoon.
