    Tuesday's Sunrise Forecast

    Tuesday's Sunrise Forecast

What we're tracking: Over the last weekend, a new upper level high pressure ridge exited the Rockies and parked itself over N Texas. Air temps in N Texas yesterday reached 105-110 degrees. Over the last 24 hours, the high's center has moved a little bit closer to us in S Texas which will bring some of that baking heat down here. Excessive Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories are both in effect for all counties until Wednesday evening. Alert days have been issued for the dangerous heat. Read on in the "Next 24 Hours" section to see how hot it will get near you. Also occurring last weekend, an upper level low trough entered the NE Coast. This low will remain in the NE Coast the next few days battering away at the high pressure ridge overhead with sheer. Over time, this high may move a little northward off of us providing room for possible showers over the weekend as the cap and high both break down. Going into next week, a weaker trough will exit the Rockies and ride around our high pressure and head south into the Gulf. This weak low may gain a little bit of strength and provide us with some "tropical" showers and thunderstorms next week. Alert Days: Tuesday and Wednesday for air temps 100-107 and heat indices 110-115.

    Current Heat Warnings

Next 24 hours: Long story short, it will be very HOT, and humid... Air temps both today and tomorrow will span between the upper 90s to the mid-upper 100s. Folks in Karnes and Gonzales Counties could see air temps between 105-107 degrees... Victoria County will see between 101 to potentially 104 for a moment. Areas south of Highway 59 will incredibly be the ONLY folks in the state not in the triple digits seeing upper 90s, except for the W Texas mountains. Most will see heat indices between 110-114 degrees. This weather persists tomorrow, but perhaps more humid. Plentiful sunshine.
