    Headline: Dangerous heat with some hope for the weekend. Oppressive heat will rule most of Texas for another day. Highs tomorrow should be in the triple digits with the heat index near 110. Respect the heat and stay safe.

    What we are tracking: The heat dome over us will have some movement in the next seven days. A pocket of lower pressure will develop near the gulf and drift over the Coastal Bend. This in turn will bring back daily afternoon showers to the region for early next week. This will be a big break for us.

    Extended Outlook: So, watch the heat until Saturday and then hope for the lower pressure and look for some afternoon showers beginning on Sunday and maybe lasting for 3 days. Rainfall totals will only be about one/half inch over the three days.
