More heat to come while watching the tropics next week

Tuesday's Weather Headline: Very consistent weather heads our way for the rest of the week. However, next week we need to keep our eyes on the Caribbean... Read on for more details.
What we're tracking: High pressure in the upper atmosphere continues to be the driving force behind our hot and sunny weather. Sinking dryer air will continue to keep our skies mostly clear of clouds, although there will be some passing cumulus with humidity high at the surface. Humidity at the ground level is a byproduct of the constant onshore flow with winds out of the Gulf dragging in the Gulf humidity. With humidity high and some moderate heat, heat indices will continue down the path of 104-107 for some. Going into the weekend, our high pressure overhead will begin tracking NE towards the Midwest before shifting more easterly. As this clockwise spinning high pressure moves toward the East Coast, the door for tropical activity becomes open with the wind pattern then steering anything in the Caribbean and Gulf towards US soil. An area of interest will be forming around the same time this happens next week, so my eyes will be peeled. Read below in "Tropical Activity" for more. Alert Days: <NONE>
Tropical Activity: A large area of thunderstorm complexes over Central America persists this week. A weak tropical wave moving through the Caribbean has a chance of disturbing this area of storms and spinning up a broad area of circulation. When and if this happens early next week, a tropical system may attempt to develop somewhere in the northwestern Caribbean. With high pressure tracking east, sheer will become favorable for movement of this system into the Gulf. If any development happens, it may happen on Sunday or Monday, with possible entrance into the Gulf around Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. More details will be posted on this system later this week as more details are known.
Next 24 hours: Weather today and tomorrow will be very similar. Quite similar actually... Highs in the Crossroads both days between the mid and upper 90s with heat indices up to 104-107 for some. Lows tonight in the low and mid 70s. Skies will be mostly sunny both days with perhaps a few passing clouds in the afternoons. Rain chances both days at 10% for possibly one or two showers developing along advancing sea breezes in the afternoons and with a dying stationary front nearby. Winds each day will be out of the SE light at 5-10 mph.
Extended forecast: Nearly the same weather persists everyday this week. With high pressure finally moving away from us this weekend, rain chances will slightly increase for possibly a few spotty showers. See below for your 7 Day Crossroads forecast!
