    Lavaca County trial date set for Buda man charged with aggravated assault

    HALLETTSVILLE, Texas - In Lavaca County, a man charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was in court Monday.

    A pre-trial hearing was set for 20-year-old Jesus Mendiola from Buda.

    The pre-trial hearing will be November 13, and the jury trial is set to begin November 18.

    Mendiola and two others were arrested in January.

    On January 1, three men near Moulton beat and stabbed a man.

    Mendiola is in the Lavaca County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.

    He's on an ICE immigration detainer.
