    Fall Cold Front Tracker

    Fall Cold Front Tracker

What we're tracking: Slightly cooler weather has finally arrived after a weak front passed through the Crossroads around midnight. This is only a hint at the first fall front arriving next week. Cool upper 50s and low 60s lows will continue for the next couple nights until southerly winds return on Friday bringing back slightly higher humidity. Before that, humidity will be noticeably low and comfortable. With dry northerly winds aloft, this will keep our skies very sunny all the way into next week. Plentiful sunshine will bring highs back to the mid 90s and lows back in the mid 60s over the weekend and on Monday. Starting out next week, a large upper level low pressure system coming out of Canada will dip south into the Central US sending a cold front surging south. The colder air mass will bring the first freeze to the northern US, but it will not pass through the Crossroads until around Tuesday afternoon. With the front arriving in the heat of the day, highs will be back to the upper 80s/low 90s for a day before the colder air arrives and highs miraculously drop to the 70s as suggested by computers! Get excited because fall is on its way! In the tropics, Category 5 Hurricane Milton is still expected to landfall in W Florida late tonight weakening some before bringing catastrophic damage. Believe it or not, behind Milton resides another area of possible tropical activity going into next week. Good news is that with a front surging south, anything that tries forming should head E or NE. This could be very bad news for Florida yet again... Alert Days: <NONE>

Next 24 hours: Much nicer and more comfortable weather ensues today and tomorrow with lower humidity and "cooler" highs. It'll be sunny still with not a single cloud in the sky, but highs for about a third to half of the Crossroads will be in the upper 80s (88/89) with the rest in the low 90s (90-92). Under clear skies and a northerly wind, lows drop again to the upper 50s and low 60s.

Extended forecast: Highs start rising back to the mid 90s this weekend, but don't worry because I am expecting the first fall cold front to arrive next week bringing highs into the 70s! No rain in sight except a tiny chance next Tuesday. See below for your 7 Day Crossroads forecast!
