HALLETTSVILLE, Texas - Hallettsville Independent School District (HISD) will be hosting information sessions for the Hallettsville ISD bond proposition tonight and throughout the month of October.

Today's bond information session will be held at the Hallettsville High School Gym on Ridge Street at 6 p.m. An additional information session will be held on Oct. 16 at the same location.

On Oct. 11, HISD will host a lunchtime information session in the Hallettsville High School Board meeting room from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.

    About the Bond

On Aug. 12, the HISD board of trustees agreed to present a bond proposal to voters on the November 5, 2024, General Election ballot.

HISD is proposing a $25.96 million bond to build a new gym and multipurpose facility. The project includes locker rooms, showers, weight rooms, a basketball court with retractable bleachers, dressing areas for teams and officials, coaches' offices and more. The bond, which would be repaid over 25 years through property taxes, is expected to fund a facility with a 50-year life expectancy, according to the district.

You can view a mockup of the facilities and additional information on the HISD website .
