Patiently waiting for the fall front next week

Friday's Weather Headline: It's Friday and I still have good news for you! Fall weather is still on the way next week! Read on for more details.

What we're tracking: The heat is still on the menu going into early next week. Dry northerly winds in the upper atmosphere will keep our skies sunny all the way into next week keeping the 90s highs for us. Humidity will also start very slightly increasing going into the weekend with a light southerly Gulf wind returning. This wind will bring lows back to the low-mid 60s. Also going into the weekend, a large upper level low pressure system will dip south into the US out of Canada sending a cold front surging south through the country. This front will bring the first freeze to much of the northern US. The freeze will not reach Texas obviously, and in fact the front will have weakened quite a bit before it reaches Central Texas. With this weakening, we are unfortunately no longer expecting upper 70s/low 80s highs. Instead, highs in the mid 80s will be likely starting Wednesday after the front should pass on Tuesday night. Next 24 hours: More heat and plentiful sunshine ensues today and tomorrow. There probably won't be a single cloud in the sky today or tomorrow. With that beaming Sun, highs heat to the low 90s for most with some along the coast perhaps in the upper 80s. Lows cool to the low 60s tonight under clear skies. Rain chances both days at a whopping 0%.
