Fall weather a little longer before warming up

Friday's Weather Headline: It's Friday woohoo and it'll still feel like fall for the weekend, but next week we start warming back to the 90s. Read on for more details.

What we're tracking: Winds returning out of the Gulf E/ESE over the next few days will slowly start bringing back humidity. This returning humidity with the Gulf air mass will start warming our highs back to the upper 80s and low 90s for next week and quickly bring lows back to the mid 60s. Winds aloft will also return out of the Gulf. This will increase cloud cover going into the weekend and for a majority of next week. Partly cloudy skies and a light to moderate Gulf wind will keep us in the upper 80s/low 90s for the rest of next week.

Next 24 hours: It'll be a nice last couple average fall weather days before we warm back to the upper 80s and low 90s next week. Today and tomorrow, expect highs in the low-mid 80s for all under partly cloudy skies during the day. We will actually be right on the money for average temperatures this time of year at around an 83 high in Victoria. Clouds will decrease some in the evenings then increase again for the overnights, allowing lows to drop only to the low-mid 60s. Humidity will be high at night and low-moderate during the day, but it will be on the increase going into next week due to returning onshore winds. Rain chances today at 10% for perhaps one shower somewhere out there but increasing to 20% tomorrow for possible around 2-4 spotty showers.

Extended forecast: We may be more than halfway through October, but it looks like Texas wants to do what it does best and heat up going into next week. It won't be mid or end of summer type heat, but low 90s and moderate to high humidity will not be as pleasant as the recent days we've had after the front. Enjoy the fall weather before we warm up!
