Warm weather returns

Monday's Weather Headline: The above average temps stay with us this week with no rain chances in sight unfortunately. Read on for more details.

What we're tracking: The large upper level high pressure system that came in behind the front last week is still over the Eastern United States. This high will continue bringing southerly winds which will keep out upper atmosphere moist with partly cloudy skies. At the surface, winds out of the Gulf as a result of this high pressure at the surface too will continue us on the warm and humid side for the rest of the week. Going into the midweek, an upper level low coming off the Rockies will push NE into the northern parts of the country bringing them rain, but for us, we will receive the back end of the upper level system bringing dry northerly winds which will clear out our skies and bring back the Sun.

Next 24 hours: Warm weather ensues today and tomorrow with partly cloudy skies flirting at times with mostly sunny. Peeking sunshine with a high UV index will bring highs in the mid-upper 80s today while warming a degree or two more tomorrow. Folks along the immediate coast may see highs in the low-mid 80s. Clouds decreasing going into tonight will drop lows to the low 60s with some in the upper 50s and those along the coast in the mid-upper 60s.

Extended forecast: With no disturbances or fronts in the near future, the warm upper 80s and low 90s will continue with the Gulf wind. We are now at 26 days without rain so we are hopeful for rain chances to return to end our drought. See below for your warm 7 Day Crossroads forecast!
