Millville’s Lotzeir Brooks breaks NJ Receiving Touchdown Record
A bit of history was made on Friday Night in Egg Harbor Township in the Battle at the Beach game between Millville and Holy Spirit. The history happened when Millville wide receiver Lotzeir Books set a New Jersey state record for touchdown receptions in a career during the Thunder Bolts 35-0 win over the Spartans.
Kawah wins it for Franklin over Trenton - Football recap
Dubem Kawah’s 50-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference as Franklin defeated Trenton 26-22 in Somerset. Jonel Lince gave Trenton a 22-14 lead in the second quarter with a 53-yard run, but Amir Glover answered with an 86-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to send Franklin into halftime down by two.
Monmouth Transferred To Drazin's Darby Under New 85-Year Lease, 80-Acre Development Planned
After a dozen years as lessee of Monmouth Park Racetrack, the New Jersey Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association (NJTHA), in conjunction with the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority (NJSEA) has transferred the racetrack, effective immediately, to Dennis Drazin's Darby Development LLC, under a new 85-year lease agreement, the track said in a release on Thursday.
Liberty boys basketball star guard announces transfer to N.J. prep school
For the second time in as many years, the Liberty High School boys basketball team’s leading scorer is transferring. Blake Hargrove, a guard, announced on Instagram earlier this week that he’s headed to the Hun School in Princeton. He is also reclassifying as a member of the Class of 2027.

There hasn’t been a Class D in the Shore Conference in decades. There is one now, because the Shore Conference identified its most at-risk programs, those that needed scheduled relief, a chance to rebuild, and opportunity stabilize and energize with competitive games. Class D does all of those things. The division features long-time, small-school big shots Keyport and Shore. Both have new coaches this fall. The team to keep an eye on, however, is Neptune. Under second-year head coach Mike Seber, the Shore Conference rumor mill is saying Neptune is showing serious progress after going 2-7 last year. Neptune is the only, non-Group 1 team, in Class D. Neptune appears to be moving forward. Can it keep from taking a step back in 2024?
