Vestaburg celebrates its sesquicentennial with weekend festival
The village of Vestaburg will host a celebration marking its 150th anniversary from Friday, July 19 to Sunday, July 21. Founder George W. O’Donnell named the little town after his wife, Vesta, and the town went on to become part of the lumber, agriculture and manufacturing history of mid-Michigan.

Cramer Named to Academic All-America Team
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Central Michigan wrestler Alex Cramer has been named to the Academic All-America At-Large Third Team by the College Sports Communicators. Cramer, a redshirt senior from Grayslake, Ill., is a computer science major with a 3.95 grade point average. He is one of 17 student-athletes named to the third team and one of just 47 named to the first, second or third team. The student-athletes represent eight sports and Cramer is one of six wrestlers so honored.
