NEW ORLEANS -- Central Michigan University Track & Field earned All-Academic status from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Thursday, while two decorated student-athletes, Emily Paupore, who won the Indoor 5000m title in 2024 and Anya Turner, who competed in the NCAA Outdoor Regional Championships in the steeplechase, were named All-Academic Athletes.

Larry James Hill, 84, of Lakeview
Larry James Hill, age 84, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Isabella County Medical Care Facility in Mt. Pleasant. He was born in Lakeview on June 19, 1940, the son of Orville and Beulah (Racer) Hill. Larry was raised in the Lakeview area, graduating with the Class of 1959. He was employed by Federal Mogul in Greenville as a hilo operator and truck driver for 40 years before his retirement. Larry married the love of his life, Carol Ann Thurston on September 4, 1965, in Howard City. They were married for 58 years and had 3 beautiful children together. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening and anything that found him outdoors. He loved caring for his yard, making sure it was perfectly manicured. Larry will be remembered as a hardworking man that cared deeply for his family.
