Career and Technical Education Center is set to open August 2026
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Friday, superintendent Dr. John-Mark Cain says the Career and technical education Center is set to open. Since last fall, Lauderdale County School District has been rejected by taxpayers that would have provided funds for the ten programs within the center. The district has been “Future Focused” and as of last night, they were approved to work on the CTE center.

Greater Meridian Health Clinic Hosts Back to School Bash
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - The Greater Meridian Health Clinic and the Meridian Public School District teamed up Friday for a Back to School Bash. Area children and their parents were treated to free food, snowballs and school supplies as they prepare to return to campus in just a couple a few weeks. The goal is to also schedule doctor appointments and immunizations.
Meridian Children's Museum in Meridian offering sensory hours this weekend
The Meridian Children's Museum in Meridian is holding sensory hours for children who are more sensitive to the normal traffic that comes through the museum. This Sunday, July 21st, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the facility will dim its lights, turn down the music, and limit the crowds for an inclusive playtime for children.
