CUBA CITY, Wis. -- Nobody was injured after a helicopter crashed in a field north of Cuba City Sunday morning, Lafayette County Sheriff Reg Gil said.

The crash was first reported just before 11 a.m. along South Galena Road in Benton Township. Gil said the helicopter hit a power line and went down in a nearby field.

The pilot, 40-year-old Loren Friedle of Smyrna, Ga., was the only person in the helicopter and did not report any injuries.

Benton First Response, Cuba City Fire, Southwest Health EMS, Alliant Energy as well as the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) assisted at the scene.
