    Currently, the Wildcats have a 4-1 record. Total statistics include: passing and receiving 25/48 for 222 passing yards and 1TD; rushing 206 carries for 1604 yards and 26 TD’s. Matthew Olguin has 10 of the 25 catches for the team and has amassed 97 receiving yards. Brody Metting has rushed 89 of the 206 carries for the team for a total of 843 rushing yards. Passing stats include Metting with a 51% completion percentage going 22/43 for an average 8.9 yards per catch for a total of 195 passing yards and 1TD. Brayden Knostman has passed with a 60% completion percentage and averages 9.0 per catch for a total 27 passing yards. Defensively, the team has 8 sacks, 137 solo tackles, 153 assisted tackles, and 4 interceptions. Richard Flores leads in solo tackles with 18 and Adam Serbin tops the leaderboard with 24 assisted tackles and 41 total tackles. Rylan Rau and Flores are both tied with 2 sacks.

    In the last win against Bruni the team accumulated 1 interception, 1 sack, 16 solo tackles, 24 assisted tackles, 38 carries for 337 rushing yards, and 1 reception for 16 yards.

    The series between Pettus and Yorktown dates back to 1940, starting with a shutout win for the Wildcats, 20-0. Holding their opponent to nil is fairly common with this matchup, having occurred a total of 17 times. The overall record is 22-19-1. Majority of the victories for the Eagles came in the late fifties and sixties. The largest win goes to Pettus in 1962, 70-14.

    The Eagles have suffered considerable losses with a 0-5 record. The Wildcats and Eagles have faced a common opponent this season. Pettus is slotted to finish last in 2A Division II District 15, according to Dave Campbell's Texas High School sports magazine.

    The Eagles will look to try and turn things around while the Wildcats will be eager to put another tally in the win column in front of a home crowd on Friday, Oct 11 at 7:00 pm kickoff time.
