Local students offer their Patriotic Essays News Staff Wed, 12/27/2023 - 12:09 Image Body The local VFW Chapter annually hosts a writing contest for students called the ‘Patriots Pen’ and “The Voice of Democracy’. The entries are judged by a variety of people and the winners receive a plaque and a very nice monetary award. This year’s winners read aloud their essays and received their prizes at the annual VFW Christmas Party. Both winners, Layne Geffert and Kennedy Robinson, are excellent public speakers. Their presentation of their individual essays was educational and very enjoyable. Both Layne and Kennedy agreed to let us print their essays for the enjoyment of all, please find them below:
