The charges stem from a month-long investigation by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency into the illegal distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine by Petersen from his home in Gray. During the investigation, undercover agents made several purchases of fentanyl from the suspect.

GRAY, Maine — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office arrested a man from Gray on Wednesday for alleged drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms. Peter Petersen, 50, was charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled W drugs (fentanyl) and unlawful possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, according to a news release from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

PORTLAND, Maine (WABI) - A Maine teenager was found not guilty of trying to enlist others in a plan to commit a school shooting in South Portland. Tristan Hamilton, 17, of South Portland, faced one count of solicitation of murder and one arson count in Cumberland County juvenile court. Three witnesses took the stand during a two-day trial last month.
