PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Pawtucket man accused of killing another man in Cumberland last fall will remain behind bars for the time being.

The Providence County Grand Jury handed up an indictment charging 34-year-old Robert Perry with the murder of 38-year-old Otis Diggs, as well as possession of a knife longer than three inches while committing a crime of violence.

Diggs, according to police, died after he was stabbed during a fight on Front Street on the afternoon of Sept. 23, 2023.

Perry was arraigned on the charges Wednesday morning in Providence County Superior Court. He was ordered held without bail and will return to court in July for a status conference.
