In Des Kitchings’ first two seasons as the Virginia Cavaliers offensive coordinator, the Wahoos’ tight ends have combined for just 33 catches and 442 yards. Alongside being the play caller, Kitchings also serves as the tight ends coach, despite the group’s lack of production. Tight ends have been primarily used as blockers in his scheme so far. Former walk-on Sackett Wood Jr. is responsible for 306 of those yards through two years.
