Lawrenceville house fire believed to be caused by arson, firefighters say
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Lawrenceville house was badly damaged by fire Saturday night in what Gwinnett County officials believe to be an arson case. Near 9 p.m., a neighbor called 911 to report the fire in the 3000 block of Iron Gate Court. When firefighters arrived, the garage and the back side of the home were ablaze, according to Gwinnett County Fire & Emergency Services.
Gainesville driver accused of crashing into apartment, hitting child, leaving the scene arrested
GAINESVILLE, Ga. - A Gainesville man accused of crashing his car into an apartment complex, seriously injuring a child and then fleeing the scene has been arrested. Erickson Mondesir, 19, has been charged with hit and run and serious injury by motor vehicle after a crash at Lenox Park Apartments on Tuesday.

Presentation on Indian Territory is July 24 at Switzer Library “Indian Territory: Removal and Rebirth,” a lecture by historian and researcher James Camp, will be presented at 6 p.m. on July 24 at the Switzer Library, 266 Roswell Street in Marietta. The program will cover the history of places designated by the U.S. government for the settling of the eastern Native American tribes and a range of facts about tribes that settled out West, especially in what became Oklahoma.
