Local Receives Award at NSDAR Conference
Members of the Fielding Lewis DAR Chapter in Marietta recently attended the 133rd Continental Congress, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution’s annual conference in Washington, DC. Charlie Ferguson Community Center Hosts Free Health and Job Fair
The Charlie Ferguson Community Center hosted its annual free Community Health and Job Fair July 13, providing services and resources to almost 300 people. Health services included vision screenings, A1C test, blood glucose, body mass, blood pressure, vaccines, breast exams, prostate markers, stroke prevention, hepatitis C and HIV testing. Health partners included Wellstar Health System, Northside Hospital Cancer Institute, Georgia Highlands Medical Services, Lions Club, Bethesda Community Clinic and the Abundant Living Foundation. Resources at the fair included Medicare Fraud Patrol, Social Security Administration, Veterans Services, 911, EMA, Highland Rivers Behavioral Health, Stand Up for Seniors, Cherokee County Senior Services, MS Society, Legal Services, Goodwill and Workforce Georgia. Chick-fil-A Canton and Medicare Fraud Patrol co-sponsored lunch.
