MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (WGXA) — The Milledgeville Downtown Development Authority is celebrating Christmas in July with a holiday market this weekend. According to a release, the 2024 Downtown Milledgeville Christmas in July Market is promising 30 vendors with food trucks featuring Glo's Thighs and Pies, Devereux Crab Shack and Kona Ice this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Annex located at 127 East Hancock Street.

Storms take down trees, knock out power across CSRA
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - An overnight thunderstorm knocked down trees and brought power outages early Tuesday across the CSRA. The National Weather Service said the storm was a microburst. A microburst is column of fast-moving sinking air that can cause destruction as the wind hits the ground and spreads in all directions.

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office reported the following incidents:. MAILBOX DAMAGE: On June 27, several deputies responded to Twin Oaks Drive, Watkinsville, for a series of damage reports. It appeared someone had driven through the neighborhood off Barnett Shoals Road and hit mailboxes, possibly with a baseball bat. At least five residents reported damage that ranged from a low of $50 to $500.
