Primary Election Reminder
Primary elections for federal, state, and county candidates are scheduled for June 18, 2024 across the state. On Election Day, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Early voting will be held June 14, 15, and 16. A list of early voting locations and the election list are available on the State Election Board website. You can find your polling place using the OK Voter Portal.
NEWS ALERT - FEMA CORRECTION
In an article, published in The Clinton Daily News, on Friday, June 7, 2024, it incorrectly mentioned that Custer County was one of the counties included in the current Disaster Recovery Program, in which FEMA has a Recovery Center currently located in Cordell. A News Release states that the Recovery Center is open to assist residents affected by the April 25-May 9 severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding, continue recovery.
Two Wanted in Custer County – Accused of Attempted Burglary
Outstanding warrants were issued for the arrest of two Clinton residents after they allegedly attempted to break into a home in April. According to court records, both 41-year-old Juanita Pauline Chapman and 41-year-old Jesse Michael Freudenberger were both charged recently with attempted 1st degree burglary, a felony, after the incident that took place on the evening of April 26 at a home in the 900 block of Modelle Avenue.
