Man wrongfully convicted of murder sues Cleveland, Cuyahoga County
A man who spent 20 years in prison for a murder he did not commit is suing the city of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County. On Thursday, Michael Buehner was flanked by his attorneys Sara Gelsomino and Elizabeth Bonham during a press conference announcing the lawsuit filed Wednesday in federal court in Cleveland.
Loiter Café says opening stalled until Cuyahoga County Land Bank provides adequate power
EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio – Ismail Samad, operator of Loiter Café & Marketplace, says he already has burned one week of the allotted 30 days a Cuyahoga County judge recently gave him to open the East Cleveland community hub. He’s says he’s discouraged, alleging that his landlord – the Cuyahoga County Land Bank – will not supply adequate electrical service for Loiter’s corner of the Mickey’s Building at 12250 Euclid Avenue where the café is located.

Earlier this week, a first run-through of Cuyahoga County Council’s tentative new public comments policy -- for meetings both of the council and its committees -- did speed up proceedings, and drew mostly positive reactions, at least publicly, cleveland.com reported.
