Man found guilty of capital murder in double homicide
CHEROKEE COUNTY – Our news partners at KETK report that a man was found guilty on Monday of capital murder in the deaths of two people who were shot after a trail ride in Cherokee County. According to the district attorney’s office, a witness testified that Devon Harris, of Shreveport, La., was driving back to Louisiana from a trail ride in Cherokee County with friends when they began arguing. Harris, also known as “Nooney Bugg,” pulled the car over on Highway 79 North near Rusk County, officials said, before he grabbed a pistol and shot both Ronnie Pearson, 20, and Jakari Hogan, 23.

Toby is a Very Special Dog That Has a Love for Firetrucks. Ryan and Nicole Hurd rescued Toby. The Hurds said Toby and his littermates were abandoned in a ditch in Shreveport 13 years ago and luckily all the pups were adopted by loving families. Toby has always been obsessed with sirens for a long time his owners say that Toby runs out every time he hears a siren and he howls along with sirens. Toby was recently diagnosed with cancer and the Hurds were told there isn't much they can do for Toby besides keep him comfortable.
Ammunition vending machines arrive in Oklahoma grocery stores
Some Oklahoma grocery stores now have the controversial ammunition vending machines, according to a PoncaCity Now report. The city of Wetumka's attorney said a deal between the Super C Mart and the vending machine maker, American Rounds, was completed between private parties. American Rounds ammunition vending machines are expanding across the south and Midwest, and being met with some criticism from those who favor more regulations around firearms. But others see no issue.

It's no surprise that Shreveport has been in a battle against litter, earlier this year Shreveport Police Department announced they had made their first litter-related arrest. Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser, along with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF), and Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) are launching a statewide program to fight back against litter. Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser says "We are ramping up litter enforcement in Louisiana with support from the State Police, Wildlife and Fisheries agents, and local law enforcement. It's important that we educate those guilty of littering and work together to keep Louisiana Beautiful."
